Baba Tahir Statue

In our time, the naked Babataher is best known for his sweet and charming couplets. Most of Babataher’s couplets are written in Lori dialect. Babataher loves God, nature and being human. In his speech, he often speaks of the beautiful mountains, plains and rivers of Iran, the good behavior and morals of God, and the praise of God. The height of Sardis Babataher is about 30 cm and its weight is less than 2 kg. The statue is made of fiberglass and was made in the “Statue and Sculpture of Shahriar” workshop. In this Sardis, the creator shows the head of Babataher completely and puts a book on his body. His name is engraved on the book. It was as if the creator wanted the viewer to recognize him immediately after seeing Sardis from the name written on the book. Sculptures can be of any gender, they can be of any size and shape, complex or simple. But each of them definitely has a message for us. They can be mythical heroes whose names we have heard in stories, or they can be simple geometric shapes. They can be the body of a popular poet on a crowded town square, or even a clay bird on a ledge. The statues look like travel. A journey from everyday life to feelings and thoughts, to beauty and, most importantly, to the dialogue of different civilizations, cultures and ideas. Sculptures can represent an idea, culture or civilization. A culture and thought that sometimes speaks to man from past centuries.
